The conclusion of the "school in the vineyard"

Delivery of certificates of participation to asylum seekers

In the framework of Action 7 of the ValorinVitis Project, the training course "school in the vineyard" - was organized by Vinidea for the group of 15 asylum seekers hosted in Ponte dell'Olio and followed by the cooperative Ippogrifo. During the 2018 season, young adults from sub-Saharan Africa had an interesting experience of approaching the viticultural sector. At the  I Perinelli winery 4 training sessions have been held linked to the different phenological phases of the vine and to the various operations that must be carried out in the vineyard during the year: winter pruning, shoots tying, suckering and the harvest of white and red grapes. The students were instructed by Mosè Scalas, the company's social-health and agronomist operator.

It was a very positive experience for young refugees who are currently looking for job opportunities in the Piacenza area. They worked hard, understood the tasks and were able to get to know closer the job of viticulturist. On 15th of September in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall of Ponte dell'Olio, Mayor Sergio Copelli delivered the certificates of participation in the course as a recognition of their commitment.
