Objectives profiles

  • identifying at least one / two local varieties that show good adaptability to climate change and have a higher level of total acidity 
  • valorisation of Ervi grape variety (an intraspecific cross between Barbera and Croatina) in response to productive discontinuity and poor basal fertility of Croatina 
  • crop protection, pesticide reduction and lower environmental impact 
  • introduction of rootstocks tolerant to drought 
  • developing the use of computerized management techniques of the vineyard, by using, for defense planning, a decision support system (DSS) that will be applied both to resistant hybrids and to the local most important susceptible varieties  (Barbera and Croatina)
  • awareness of the local viticultural heritage among young students from Piacenza and expansion of the technical skills of future stakeholders
